Friendly staff. Enjoyed a meal at the pub next door. Stunning views looking out at the sand dunes. Room was cosy and clean

I took a wrong turn at Dargaville and after a long drive through the Waipoua Forest, ended up at Opononi. I was thrilled to see the hotel and restaurant there. The hotel has a colonial look about it and it's right on the waterfront. Stunning views! Nice room, friendly staff and welcoming. Had a delicious meal and drink in the bar next door. Recommended.
