What Makes Us Different
We are constantly looking at emerging technologies in textile solutions. People think of 'canvas' companies as making PVC & canvas covers. We certainly do that but we look at each end use - does it need to be food safe? Does it need to be resistant to chemicals? In an outside product - how do we future-proof it given the climate change happening? A question I have just put to my suppliers - what are the employment conditions like in the manufacturing plants- what are their environmental practices? We made a decision a while ago to only use the best fabrics we can get hold of, the best stainless steel, the best of everything. This may cost more upfront but our products last a really long time - it is not uncommon for us to be replacing outside products which we made 15 - 20 years ago. How many cheap, overseas-made products have you had to buy in that time? How much have you added to the landfill by purchasing cheap products that only last 1-3 years. How bad do they look when they fade after only six months in the NZ sun? We stand by our work.
