Thai Orchid has been an iconic Thai restaurant in the South Island for over 30 years. As new owners we are bringing the original spices and freshness back to Thai Orchid. Over 60 years of traditional Thai Cooking experience in the kitchen ensures some of the best Thai food you will find anywhere. Whether you are seeking simple rice and noodle dish, stir-fried classic, Kiwi-Thai fusion or traditional 300-year-old recipes, we have something for all tastes. Come and join us!       A weekly must visit restaurant for myself and my hubby and my children. Owner is exceptional friendly and nice. Have tried almost everything on the menu, from simple fried rice to main meals, all are exceptionally yummy!

      Excellent food in pleasant surroundings. We enjoyed a very pleasant meal that was well presented and delicious. Generous portions and excellent service. Delicious desert of mango sticky rice not on the menu but well worth a try.

      Food is to die for and the crispy prawns were a great starter with our wine. We have had many traditional spicy dishs (Pad Phed, Pad Ke Mao, Pad Krapao) which are full of flavour! Less hot but equally yummy Crispy Duck, Oyster sause, Peanut sause and Pad Sew Ew dish. Your Sticky mango in a pineapple tops off great evening - thank you Thai Orchid team.
