Spotlight has filled the gap in the market which used to be filled with all the little sewing and fabric shops. They've got heaps to choose from and their prices are generally pretty good. The staff at the Sylvia Park branch are usually pretty friendly and helpful. Given their virtual monopoly on the market, they could be doing things better for customers and suppliers, but they could also be doing worse, so I commend them for trying their best to encourage people to do this kind of work themselves (especially as more people move to online shopping and away from crafts). Recommended.

This store is brilliant for a great range and variety of textiles, bedware, kitchen ware and giftware. The staff are happy to assist you at all times and willing to put in the extra mile to answer questions that you may have. Their staff are very knowledgeable when it comes to sewing etc and will give you the information they have in regards to grey areas you may have. They are always up to date with the latest fashion material aswell. Make sure to sign up for VIP to get added discounts on purchases. The location is great as there is ample parking and being just a little out of town means there isn't to much traffic to compete with. Their fabric is by far the cheapest I have been able to find but their other bits and pieces you have to be selective as they can be cheaper elsewhere
