      First visit to our local F&C. Busy on a Thursday because the fresh fish (e.g. Tarakihi) is fab! My order was crisp and dry, and enhanced by the outside layers being good old newspaper!

      Really nice fish and chips. Fast and friendly service. My only beef is that the chips are rather doughy on account of being too fat - but apparently they pride themselves on using thick chips to reduce the fat content of the meal. Honestly, it's fish and chips: it's never going to be a healthy option! Personally I prefer the chips crisper. But the fish is perfect.
