Went to the museum as part of the 90 miles beach coach tour. Really enjoyed it, it's full of exhibits of Giant ancient kauri logs and carvings. It also offer a great range of souvenirs so you can take away your own piece of ancient NZ history with you.

A great little museum, staff are always positive and helpful, and the kids loved the hands on stuff and realistic displays. Would recommend.

We took our overseas family here recently when they visited. It was a really enjoyable experience! I learned a lot and found it so interesting. We have a lovely lunch in the cafe after. Made for a great day out and was well worth a bit of traveling to get there!
