Kaupokonui Beach Camp

Very good beach and has a very good fishing spot very clean and tidy good for white bait season

Very cool and not very well known camping grounds. Not an overly massive camp grounds but this is brilliant as it's a more down to earth place to pitch a tent and set up camp. There is a neat bridge which the kids always love to access the beach, lots of grassy grounds to play games on and even better the town of Manaia is only a few minutes drive away if you need any supplies as there is no shop at the grounds.

Spent a few days out here recently helping out after the whale stranding and found the people from the camp were awesome in doing all they could to help while still keeping the camp and amenities clean and tidy. Great place great people highly recommended.

The beach makes this place it's amazing the camp itself is very simple and quite small but has everything you need cabins powered and non powered sites. Great place for families as the river is great for swimming and fishing, the beach has cool rock pools but is unsafe for swimming in the sea, please take care of the rips
