I worked with John to get a NZ pilots license. Based on my Canadian license I had to write 2 exams (regs and radio), and we flew for 2 hours doing low flying, and mountainous terrain/canyons/ridges.
Tecnam2008 is a nice LSA plane, and after flying with John we got to fly in NZ, amazing area
John is an excellent instructor, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
He was very good to follow up afterwards and very available over the phone.
Go fly with him and enjoy NZ

John checked me out on conversion to the Tecnam P96G and my "advanced local" rating. John also coached me on navigation and some aspects of performance and weight / balance. I found my interactions with John very helpful. He went out of his way to make me feel at ease and came across as genuinely wanting to help me develop. John also spent considerable time reviewing the syllabi for different license types and helping me understand where I'd need to brush up before moving to the next stage. John also made himself available for providing access to weather information and other advice.

In all - highly recommended - a helpful and pragmatic instructor.

I had a fabulous lesson with John when I was introduced to low flying, that is 200ft or less, which is a requirement in the NZ flying curriculum and an experience which the UK pilot and others never enjoy where it feels as if the wheels are running along the tree tops.
The lesson was conducted in a brand new (smell the leather) Tecnam P2008LSA with wide bodied carbon fibre fuselage and all glass cockpit.
Flying with John is an experience I would recommend to anyone.
