Great high tea at Zealong Tea estate, the setting was really classy! Worth the the stop over. Service was great and loved the outdoor seating had great views of the tea plantation

having been shouted to a "High Tea" at Zealong it was with much interest that we arrived. Our table was close to the big windows giving a restful view to the lake and the tea groves. The waitress (?) assigned to us was so welcoming and gave a detailed story of the tea choices and the process. No teapot with a teabag here! Then after a time to experience the tea, our 3 layered cake stands came out - 1 for each!! Each layer had 3 items of savoury or sweet presented with high attention to detail.
This was a morning tea with a difference and totally enjoyed. If you aren't ready for that level there are other options that won't stretch the wallet the same, but from peaking at other tables the food is still high class and beautifully presented.

Zealong is set in lovely grounds with bronze sculptures and plantings. The restaurant overlooks the water reservoir and tea plantation. This is a pleasant outlook. We had a high tea which was very nice with a delicious selection. The tea was superb. They high-priced and trying to capture the high end of the market. I don't feel that the restaurant quite makes that mark despite the effort. The staff were pleasant and well trained but lack the experience and finesse that can be found in a high class restaurant. They didn't offer to hang up my jacket. They used plastic straws too small for the glass and paper napkins. Attention to detail is everything if you want to be high class.
