Piano Specialists is a family business established in 1994 by Jim, Harry, and David Strang as a progression from the Taieri Music Centre which Harry had owned and run in Mosgiel since 1975. Jim is a member of the NZPTTG, and, (many years ago) gained experience in London where he passed the British Piano Tuners' Assn. Expert piano tuning exam. Today Jim runs Piano Specialists with help from fellow piano technicians James Dickson and Jochen Gueldner. The business specialises in the sales and restoration of pianos from its premises at 9 Howe St Dunedin, and also a tuning and repair service throughout Otago and Southland. At Piano Specialists, prospective buyers deal directly with the technicians who have restored the piano, who in most cases will also deliver the piano and provide the after sales service.
