For the oldest Teppanyaki restaurant in Christchurch, Yamagen is still going strong! Came here for my boyfriends birthday as we got a voucher from the Entertainment book. We had such an amazing night! The chef was super skilled and entertaining, the food selection was varied and all delicious! We were thoroughly satisfied and enjoyed every minute of the show

The food is fantastic. Their fresh sushi is incredible. And having your meal cooked in front of you is always an experience. Quite pricey however and the new location sadly doesn't meet up to how special it was in the crown plaza.

The food arrives too slow and when you have hungry kids can't wait too long. It's not a child friendly restaurant.

I was here for lunch. Better not to drive as it was hard to get a car park. Had the beef teppanyaki. Very authentic japanese cooking style. Food was absolutely delicious! Slightly pricey though. Nice decor and cosy atmosphere. Chef and staff were polite. Customer service was good.
