phenomenal food and a phenomenal atmosphere, we had the degustation and it was to die for. Will definitely be going back!

My sister and brother in law came down from Auckland and asked that I choose the best restaurant in Christchurch for an evening meal. I chose Pescatore. The restaurant itself was nice but what a shame that the windows were partly frosted so you could not see the beautiful park. The staff were knowledgeable and gave us a description of the menu. We first had 4 tasty but very small oysters for $26. For the main one had the fish, stone cold, one had the wagu, which was tough,two of us had the duck great flavors but luke warm. The staff did offer to redo the fish. The mains ranged between $40 & $46 plus $11 each for vegetables which was asparagus only. Our account came to around $600, we were given a VIP discount because we were not happy. No complaints about the staff but overall what was to be a special occasion was rather disappointing.

Had dinner in this place with friends to celebrate an occasion. We had the 7 course degustation menu and though is a 7 course but the portion are just nice. Not too full. The presentation was beautiful. Service is above expectation. It is a great place for special occasions.

Absolute must if you have high quality tastes! Couldn't fault the food, absolutely fantastic.

We went for the seafood degustation menu for my partners birthday and it really was excellent. Every course was delicious and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend for a special occasion! The menu was adapted perfectly for my partner's gluten allergy and you could barely tell the difference between the dishes on most courses.
