Just Janie is an alt-folk musician. Drawing inspiration from the classic sounds of the late sixties and seventies, Just Janie’s music is a captivating and tender menagerie, weaving folk influences with hints of country and Americana. Winter of 2024 saw the release of her debut EP 'Muse and Musician', recorded in the Blue Mountains, NSW with Rick Turnock and Abby Smith. Just Janie was selected as part of Ōtautahi’s 2024 OMAP programme facilitated by Saltbox Studios alongside RDU 98.5FM and released her latest single 'Musings in the Breakfast Aisle'. 'A vocally rich and powerful lament of indecision, the song was part of the menu on NZ On Air‘s February 2025 New Tracks compilation.' Her new single 'Cherry' is set to release on the 8th of August, 2025.
