It is the busiest and most strategic southern air connection to the world's trade and tourism markets, having welcomed a record 6.7 million passengers last year. There is nowhere in the world you can't reach internationally by flying out of Christchurch.

the airport is only 20 minutes drive from the city center. there are lots of screens so easy to find your flight information shops and food courts are just enough to keep you interested.

Fantastic airport, great facilities all round. Good parking, good cafes, large and spacious. Clean, tidy and modern.

mixed feelings about getting in and out of the airport, left at 6am running late, got back at 9.45pm, husband in wheel chair, great service from the ground team, nothing a problem, as i went to get the car to come back for my husband, got in the wrong lane, left money with him, at the barrier arm, pressed help, cars behind me, and i got a very ignored lady, she must of known i was in a panic, leaving my husband and getting lost getting out. Told me where to go, in the dark all different, got in the wrong lane, shuttles and taxi lanes, pressed the button to be rudely told i was in the wrong place, back up and do a u turn and go back where i come. Well thanks for your help and sympathy, my rating would have been 5 but for your attitude, 20-3-19 at about 9.30 approx, really did not appreciate your lack of kindness, the rest of the team were great, got back to my husband and a lovely young man had waited with him after asking if he was ok, said i think my wife might be lost trying to find the car, we left in a huge hurry to get to a funeral in Nelson, very last minute. He was amazing and also offered to take my husband to the car which was on the top of the parking building, went to pay the parking bill and read in the lift it is $25.00 a day, find yes that wrong $40.00 a day, take down the sign, not entirely true , change it to read what you call a day, or where you are parked. Some very great service there that day, but some that can very well be improved, manners missing at the intercom for letting people out at the barrier arms, both people were short and demeaning people make mistakes and they have not in there time. Thanks to the airport team, and sorry if the barrier arm /help (like little help) if they are part of your team they have really let you down, it is sad as you all put in 110% towards helping my husband and myself get home safely thank you

Our international airport in Christchurch has served us well for the arrival and departure of many international and domestic flights. A well laid out airport with lots of parking and the drop-off lane is super handy when you don’t want to stop and park. A few food and retail shops to tide you over while you wait for your flight. Overall a very nice, well equipped airport.
