      We had a fantastic stay here. The relaxed old house charm is a nice change from corporate hostel chains (which I frequently also use). We also met some really nice people staying here - it attracts a nice, laid back crowd. Plus if you like a breathtaking sunset every night, it is literally 5 minutes from the peak of Mount Eden (an extinct volcano). Finally, you know the U2 song, One Tree Hill? The veranda at Ya Ping House overlooks that very same One Tree Hill they are singing about. Recommended for a relaxed stay of a week or more.

      The manager was nice and friendly. The building is very old and needs a lot of work. The common area is big and cozy. If you are looking for somewhere unique to stay then this is it.
