General Info

The Postman’s Leg is a vibrant, unique take on gastropubs that has locals flocking together for a beer and a bite, enjoying the expansive courtyard. Long before the dog and bone, news spread as far as the postman could roam. Legend tells of a Glenfield hero, a postie who left his mark. An amputee by virtue of a sawmilling tragedy, he refused to let this put him on the back foot. Fashioning a D.I.Y. harness for his horse, he simply changed careers. For 16 years, rain, hail or canine, he provided a lifeline to the locals. So charge your glass as we salute a man with an iron will and a leg of wood.

I love the ribs here - the best. Good vibes here too.

Great place for families. Food is yum, and the daily deals are great too. Live music on Saturday and Sundays adds to the atmosphere.

We loved it all. The service was amazing - we were so well looked after. Thank you so much! A great pub!! Our Aussie friends will come back just to eat here!

We've been here a few times and it's one of those "it's ok" kind of places. It's expensive for a pub, but the food is usually ok and it's close to home ... It;s gone downhill and keeps going!

Tonight, I ordered the fish pie and pea mash - $23. What arrived was an anaemic pastry pie fresh from the freezer on a dollop of mashed pots. There was a 'trendy' but pointless scraping of peas on the side of the plate. I said I wasn't happy and the (lovely) waiter agreed, saying "I can't pretend that's ok". She took it back.

The manager then came back with the pie and told me why I should have it. She said I should read the menu properly and the pie was "as described"! She then told me "it's a pub, not a gourmet restaurant". She lacked customer care skills ...

Then the head chef came over as I was paying and asked me why I sent it back as I hadn't tasted it. I told him I didn't want an argument, but it was clear he did! Really intimidating and embarrassing! To top it off, he shouted as I left "go home, keyboard critic" (he said this as I'd asked for the manager's email address to make a complaint).

It was A W F U L. I will never go back and could not recommend it to anyone.

Bad show, Postman's Leg.

Beautiful food, beautiful service. Thank you for such a gorgeous experience. Loved the atmosphere, didn't have to wait very long for the mains which was amazing.
