Crab shack has a nice atmosphere by the water, and friendly staff. The food unfortunately wasn't too spectacular, and some dishes just weren't that yummy.

Such delicious food, ridiculously fresh. Really cool theme, well set out, friendly staff. The fish was so fresh it tasted like it had literally just been caught.

The Crab Shack Prices Wharf was truly an amazing lunch dining experience when we were warmly greeted by staff who sat us immediately with our toddler at a table. Being the day of the first Lions AB Match, the atmosphere at the restaurant was already bustling and positive.

I ordered the crab prawn cakes and chicken coriander soft tacos to start and these were abdolutely mouth watering as we awaited to enjoy our Spanner crabs in a light Indian curry broth.

When ourcrab pots accompanied with buns arrived, I knew it would be a satisfying challenge to tackle and savour. The crab was simply divine with the flavouring, but very effort-worthy to consume. Alas, compared to my friends, as the amateur I had a lot of crab legs left over but thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. If only I had someone to extract all the meat for me!

A truly excellent dining experience to be enjoyed with friends and loved ones, and an absolute must re-visit. I'm eyeing up the Alaskan king crab legs for next time which are apparently easy peel low effort to eat!

We stopped in here for dinner on our first night in Auckland and were sure glad we did. The service was fantastic, especially our waitress (I think her name was Mel) who was warm, friendly and very attentive. The food and drinks were excellent as well, in particular the Black Magic Woman cocktail and the mixed mussels/clam 1kg scoop with white wine sauce.
