Piha Cafe

This very unassuming cafe was a real treat to find after a nice walk on the beach. The food was superb - portions enormous. We sat outside in the terrace area and had a little army of sparrows watching to see if we would give them any crumbs - but the food was too good to share. Definitely worth visiting.

I had the large salad. I mixed a number of prepared salads. It was very filling. They serve meat & a wide range of vegetarian options. Ambience & service are both relaxed.

Expensive!! Always a risk with small towns offering no alternatives. While the service was good, food good and view lovely, the price made us not want to go back. Preferred the coffee from their neighbours too. The house made baking was tasty though...but also expensive! $17 for a beer?! And save yourself a few dollars by getting the “pizza bread” instead of the pizza. It’s not that much different, no idea why the pizzas are so much pricier.

Definitely a really nice place and obviously in a nice location at piha. We enjoy the breakfast and brunch here. pie and coffee are very delicious, salad is fresh, dessert a bit sweet for me. nice cafe at Piha beach. Would recommend.

Extremely disappointed.
I ordered the grilled fish with quinoa salad. The salad was the highlight and not the fish. The fish lacked favour, only 5 finger sized strips and was tasteless. For $25, I felt ripped off. Will not be going back there again.
The salad was beautiful, hence the 1.5 star.
