Ken Yakitori Bar

Very dissapointed in the food here, worst japanese restaurant i been too. The man served us unshreded chunk of cabbage as an entre with no sauce. Didn't bother to serve us tea or water. I ordered an eel donburi and man microwaved the rice! The eel was not even fresh, it was frozen eel. The portion was so small and expensive for its size and quality. I also ordered sashimi and they served us 4 tiny cubes of unfresh tuna. I was really dissapointed in the food here.

Really nice restaurant to go for a night out. Meals are a decent size and delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Prices are fairly standard.

Get here early or book if there is a group of you. Limited seating available. Good is always delicious! The karage chicken is a crowd favourite. Great value for money and fun watching them cook your grilled food in front of you if you sit at the bar. Lovely environment. Food is served quickly and always hot.

Findings a booking on weekends could be a challenge. Karage chicken a must try.. Plenty of parking. If you don't get a booking, don't be disappointed as a lot of other good restaurants also nearby.. This one is the best though

Best Japanese restaurant ever! This has been a family favourite of ours for years. Kens is very small, so if you show up without a booking on a Friday or Saturday night you will probably have to wait awhile.
Food is amazing! Such a great selection and always made perfectly. Highly recommend Kens to anyone who loves Japanese- the Sommerville branch is the only good one.
