Espresso Workshop

Great place. Wide range of food and beautifully prepared. Drip coffee as well as espresso. Popular. They do things really well. Friendly staff.

Espresso Workshop has beautiful ambience and is very well designed, other than that, nothing will not impress you. The coffee is just amazing, I usually go for the large Americano, and it certainly has the consistency that I'd like my coffee to have at all times. The place is reliable when it comes to coffee and the service is really quick as well. I definitely recommend it for a quick cup if you're in the area.

Continuing my search for the best coffee in Auckland, and somewhere that I have been trying to get to for a while. Initially we found this place tricky to find but only because of my own directional failings. Espresso Workshop is situated off the main drag of Parnell high street in a sort of 'industrial' setting. There is off-street parking for customers and the visual treat that greets customers is something else. the workshop is like a lab for coffee experimentation.

These guys also sell a great range of all the latest and desirable kit that the home coffee enthusiast could want as well as magazines on coffee.

Super friendly staff are more than happy to demonstrate and walk through the various methods of brewing. But i'm digressing onto the coffee itself.

So I tried my standard 'test' drinks of an espresso followed by a Picollo. The espresso (single origin offering I'm relieved to tell you) was excellent, super full body and great mouth feel. I was given no information as to the origin of the bean which I can pass on however I am sure it would have been available. The Picollo was also excellent demonstrating excellent notes and character cutting through the milk.

Overall I highly recommend the espresso workshop and I am slotting this place in at number 3 - ahead of my beloved Kokako. This now makes the Auckland Coffee table as follows:

Great coffee and really friendly staff. They charge less if you take your own reusable cup. Very eco friendly!
