Espresso Workshop

Great coffee shop. I bought a Keepcup reusable coffee cup from their shop and it is awesome. Their flat white is also amazing.

Continuing my search for the best coffee in Auckland, and somewhere that I have been trying to get to for a while. Initially we found this place tricky to find but only because of my own directional failings. Espresso Workshop is situated off the main drag of Parnell high street in a sort of 'industrial' setting. There is off-street parking for customers and the visual treat that greets customers is something else. the workshop is like a lab for coffee experimentation.

These guys also sell a great range of all the latest and desirable kit that the home coffee enthusiast could want as well as magazines on coffee.

Super friendly staff are more than happy to demonstrate and walk through the various methods of brewing. But i'm digressing onto the coffee itself.

So I tried my standard 'test' drinks of an espresso followed by a Picollo. The espresso (single origin offering I'm relieved to tell you) was excellent, super full body and great mouth feel. I was given no information as to the origin of the bean which I can pass on however I am sure it would have been available. The Picollo was also excellent demonstrating excellent notes and character cutting through the milk.

Overall I highly recommend the espresso workshop and I am slotting this place in at number 3 - ahead of my beloved Kokako. This now makes the Auckland Coffee table as follows:

If you enjoy good coffee definitely worth a visit to this Cafe. The food is ok but personally stick to the coffee and grab some baked goods around the corner at Amano.

Nice modern cafe with good coffee - we ordered cappuccinos takeaway. Didn't have to wait long. This cafe clearly pride themselves on their coffee knowledge and take the drink seriously.

Great little cafe tucked away from the main street of Parnell Road. Tasty coffee as you'd expect from Espresso Workshop.
