Der Metz

Had a couple of beers here with a friend, served in authentic steins which was great. Had a side of bread and dips to wash it down with. Quintessential German restaurant, was a great short visit.

Except the huge portion of food, nothing’s special. First, service was super slow although staff were pretty friendly. I ordered the pork hock, which was super salty but the cabbage and German dumplings came with it tasting really plain. If you had a big appetite then go for it, otherwise not recommend at all.

Had an absolutely wonderful time at Der Metz! Fantastic prices and the food was delicious. Highly recommend to all.

This place i first went to for a work function, and was thinking the price would be for a standard average sized schnitzel, but whern the meals came out i was beside myself with 3 HUGE and i mean HUGE pieces of schnitzel the best gravy , and awesome mashed potatoes., best and most satisfying meal i have had that left me full and hardly able to move. place has authentic german mugs and cups and al sorts of decorations, and the staff are mainly german too so get the whole vibe going on. great place, great food, and also importantly great array of beers available too.

The staff is friendly but just that tad bit impatient. Small things like that matter so many just need a tweak there. The food quantity is great so be careful how much you order. The taste was good but not great. Still i love going there. I wish they had more space. It is cramped. Also being a little out of the main mission bay area makes parking easy.Worth to try.I will definitely visit this place again.
