We ate dinner at cowboy on 2 different occasions for 2 separate september birthday celebrations. We have dined here many times and as usual, our pizza and pasta dinners were excellent. We will be back again in the near future.

This is always known as Cowboys Bar. It's a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon in the viaduct, listening to the great guitar and singing band they have on from 3-6pm. I think there's a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights too. In this bar, all the staff are dressed up as cowboys or cowgirls, and there are free cowboy hats guests can borrow to wear also.

It has a Texas cowboy decor, which is fun. It also has some of the best toilets I've seen in an Auckland bar. Real white flannels to use to wash your face and hands. Candles and mirrors complete the romantic feel.

The food here is excellent. We purchased the kumara chips and normal chips, both around $9 a portion - but the portions were huge and fed a few of us. Drink range is good - but the wine is NOT cheap with the cheapest bottle at $42. You can purchase "The Barrel Thief" wine on tap, but this is $25 for 500ml or $50 a litre. That's not cheap for what is essentially cask wine. My 500ml carafe looked like a milk bottle - making it look even cheaper than it needed to look.

The location is excellent, and it's just a few steps outside to the edge of the viaduct marina, where you can sit and watch the million dollar yachts all lined up in a row. It's a pretty and romantic spot by night, great for a date or an intimate evening with friends.

Overall, highly recommended venue - just make sure your wallet can handle it.
