Countdown Supermarkets

Good company stock heaps an lots of brand's.

It is not often you get to rate your local Supermarket, however, as the staff are so super-friendly here, I need to review their great service. Always a friendly hello when you shop and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The supermarket is clean - great parking - and no problems if you dont have your own shopping bag with you! Well Done Coutndown!

Nice and clean store with plenty of grocery choices. Not much staff floating around the store and the checkouts always seem to not be free flowing like other supermarkets. The swipe and go checkouts are convenient especially if you only have a few items.

The weekly mailer makes budgetting for that weekly shop alot easier. Lots of multibuy discounts every week, and the store is generally in a tidy condition. Staff at the deli counter are nice and quick with their service. The AA smartfuels reward system is a bonus.

My local countdown has gone downhill to the point I actively avoid it. It's the Birkenhead one. Main problem is there are only two checkouts left and the rest are self service machines which continually break down. So there is a long queue even at non peak times. I feel sorry for the staff remaining who remarkably manage to remain polite, even though they look understandably depressed.
