its very busy even on weekday off peak hours. be prepared to queue or wait on the phone. get all documents ready as they are not very linear with things.

I have been there a few times to get my visa. I find the place to be always busy, but it’s good they have the visa application forms all printed out ready to collect. The place has very limited parking, if you accidentally park at the building next door you could get fined or even worse towed!

This is the place you'll get any visa applications processed relating to China. The good thing is they have a ticketing system, so you're guaranteed a place in the queue once you've got your ticket. There's also plenty of seating while you wait for your number to be called. On the down side, this place gets crazy busy, and you're not able to make an appointment. Really you need to get there at least an hour before they open and join the queue (which will have already started forming). Also there only about three car parks assigned to the consulate. There are swathes of other car parks in the complex, but they all belong to other businesses. Parking in any of those places will result in your car getting clamped. So go early, get in the queue, find off street parking if there aren't any left - you'll be fine.

I love coming to the Chinese Consulate - they are just awesome and make a great effort to have their guests and visitors welcome on premises. I feel more engaged with China when I have visited here and I'm pleased to return. I would like to send my thanks for the kind welcome.

If you are traveling to China and don’t have a Chinese pass port you will need to apply for a visa there, the visa are quite expensive. There are two options the cheeper option for one time entrance or the more expensive option for unlimited entrance throughout the year. If you are visiting China multiple time through the year it is much better value to get get the multiple return visa.
