Butterfly Creek are proud to host NZ's only giant saltwater crocodiles - the world's apex predators. Complimenting these reptiles is our magnificent tropical butterfly house, cotton-top tamarins and other reptiles such as the bearded dragon and alligators. We also host NZ's giant wetapunga - one of the world's largest insects and an aquaria and bugs exhibit including tarantulas. Beside the courtyard and playground, take a wee train ride around the new Dinosaur Kingdom that opened in Jan 2014 - see the dinosaurs come to life! Last but not least is Buttermilk farm where you can get up close and personal with the cute and cuddly animals. Butterfly Creek hosts fantastic all-inclusive children's parties and we run a behind the scenes Junior Keeper programme for those animal lovers. Animal encounters occur daily and we are open every day except Xmas & Boxing day and we are 50% undercover so don't let the rain put you off! We are situated 2 minutes from the Airport and provide a free shuttle service to and from the airport.

All fun and games butterfly creek is! Loads of things to look at and do, the butterfly house is a buzz!

Great place to spend a family day. Lots of animals and activities. Easy access and parking. Great discount prices.

Its not cheap but if you look around online, sometimes you can find vouchers for butterfly creek. I cant come very often as I have three kids and it will cost me too much to visit. But, when we do come here, we spend all day. I bring snacks for my kids to keep costs down, and they all come with a drink bottle. They love watching the crocodile sitting there doing nothing hahaha. We also enjoy the butterflyhouse (although my little one freaks out a little bit when they land on him).

Our daughter had a great day out for her 4th birthday here, Plenty to see, Great value for money. The cafe was very busy, but we managed to find a seat. Lovely food. Staff were very friendly and cheerful. Highly recommend.

Great for all ages and handy that you can buy passes for different areas as my toddler wasn't so interested in the butterflies more the farm animals.
