Best price for fruit and vegetable and if you know how to bargain thats when you get the real deal. Parking is the problem but if can park 5min away that will be..

This market is always heaving with people on sunny days. They have heaps of fresh fruit & vege stalls at good prices. Plenty of bric a brac style stall too. Parking is a nightmare even if you're willing to pay. Both sides of the street is chocka with cars and driving through is slow. There's always an incredible amount of rubbish left on the ground afterwards too.

The Avondale Sunday Market is legendary, and one of the very best West Auckland markets regularly held. You'll typically find around 100 market stalls each Sunday, including bric a brac, hardware / tools, childrens toys and games, watches and jewellery, car and kitchen mats, clothing and lingerie, and other general stalls. Anything goes here. More established market traders happily co-exist with one-off sellers of items left over from their home garage sales.

There are a number of food trucks and stalls here, with specialties including bacon butties, burgers, and hot chips - but there's also island food stalls with taro, chop suey and the like.

One of the big attractions here is the fleet of trucks from which vegetables and seasonal produce are sold - normally at excellent prices. There's probably 20-30 fruit and vegetable stalls to choose from, ensuring competition and low costs... tip from locals: go to the market circa 12 noon (about an hour before closing), and you'll see all of the fruit and vege traders deep discounting their remaining produce... this is the time for bargains!

Occasional music buskers complete the mix at this wonderful market. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and are looking for good value products.

There is a lot at this market. Plenty of fresh produce as well as knick knacks and clothing. It gets very busy though & getting through the traffic is a bit of a mission.

A great Sunday market, that has simething for everyone. Its not upmarket, but a good produce, food and cheap clothing market. Parking is available for a small cost.
