Auckland Zoo

It's very spacious here and you feel as though the animals have much more space than at other zoos. It's clean and tidy and the animals don't seem stressed or unhappy. Particularly loved going here when they had late nights, it was awesome to see the animals when they were active in the early evening.

The elephants and rhinos were the highlight, but plenty of exotic animals in large spacious enclosures. It’s nice and flat with a great playground, plenty of eateries so good for a family visit.

Auckland Zoo has turned into a beautiful zoo. They do amazing work behinds the scenes and teach visitors to the zoo all about conservation. They have a great little souvenir shop that is solely based around animals. I buy an annual pass as a Christmas gift, for family in Auckland. They love going there and learning about the animals.

Really lovely zoo with adequate enclosures and beautifully set out with the different countries' animal sections. Only downside for us was waiting for the tiger talk right at the end by the glass window where all the seats are. A young zookeeper doing the talk just walked past all of us and didn't think to politely ask if we were all sitting there wanting to listen to the talk and tell us to follow her instead - not the best engagement with customers. Otherwise great. The carpark is very small though and fills up quick - we went at 10am on Sunday and had to drive around a few times before finding a park as it's pretty crazy driving through Auckland traffic trying to get one down the road

Well designed and maintained enclosures. Beautiful picturesque grounds. A great variety of animals to see. Disappointing that some signage, interactive activiies and kids play areas needed repair and I would expect everything to be in tip top shape for the price we pay for entry.
