Learn how to protect yourself and walk the streets with confidence. Focusing on realistic self defense techniques in a fun and safe environment.Covering all aspects of martial arts with the opportunity to train for your gradings and weapons training.
These Muay Thai kickboxing classes teach you kick boxing skills and combinations. This provides a great you with a fitness-building, cardiovascular workout. If you are interested, it can also help you to prepare for tournaments or ring fights. Fighters compete in national kickboxing competitions.
The classes cater for all levels of fitness and experience. Just put on some comfortable clothing (shorts or trackpants) and bring along a towel. If you are interested in sparring, bring a mouth-guard as well.
MMA - Mixed Martial Arts
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) classes focus on how to deal with a situation effectively if it goes to the ground.This why our style of (MMA) is called Terra Firma Fighting. Classes cover training in a gi (uniform), without a gi, with strikes, without strikes and Kumite (free-fighting).
This helps teach you not to rely on just the techniques you like and can do well, but forces you to think outside the square and try techniques you wouldn't normally use.
This builds a better understanding of various situations and the options for dealing with them. As a lot of fights go to the ground, MMA is a very important part of our training whether it be for the cage, stand-up fighting or self-defence.
Our students have been competing in Vale Tudo and MMA since 1991. They now fight under the name Terra Firma Fighting (Team Terra Firma)
