Alice's Clothing Alterations

I have had a couple of items repaired or altered through Alice's Clothing Alterations. Her seamstress skills are excellent. However, if there was a downside it would be finding her shop closed, during stated business hours. Be prepared to have to return. Otherwise, recommended.

I bought a jacket at Myer in Sydney - sleeves were too long so had them shortened at the in-store alteration dept. The shortening was inadequate, compounded by poor workmanshiip - the stitching coming undone the same day, On returning to Whangarei I took the jacket to Alice's and they did a first class job despite tricky buttonhole positions. This was really good value too, great to know we have such high standards locally. Highly recommended.

Though I asked around on Facebook and Trademe for a seamstress to alter a dress and make it bigger for me, no one could come up with anyone suggested. So I went to Alice's clothing alterations and repairs in the CIvic Arcade. I am thrilled with what she did for me...everyone said it could not be done and for a reasonable price, she managed to do such a professional job very quickly. I am so delighted as it was a beautiful dress and she enlarged the bust area - 2 layers- with the fabric of a blouse of the same colour which I had found though of a different fabric to the dress fabric, sewing it in as darts front and back into the gorgeous frock I gave her. It looks as though it is part of the original dress. I thoroughly recommend her services. Thank you, Alice!!
