Great place to relax and wander around

I have been twice to this venue. Once, about two years ago and just recently. It's a beautiful spot where an old quarry has been turned into a Garden of Eden by a band of dedicated volunteers. In recent times a visitors centre has been opened. It's a casual walk that people of normal fitness can enjoy. It would be great if there could be guided tours because it would be nice to hear about its history as a working quarry as well as learn about some of the amazing flowers and plants they have growing there. Well recommended - and after the walk, you can enjoy something tasty from the Quail Cafe that has just been build in the grounds.

Fantastic oasis in the middle of Whang?rei, entry by donation gives you access to explore the beautiful gardens and walking tracks. With an amazing cafe onsite complete with facilities this can become a great day out for the whole family or catch up with friends for coffee. Picnic areas on the grounds means you can byo lunch if you prefer.
