A great little lunch bar to stop for a coffee and a snack after a long day of shopping. Selection of cakes, sandwiches and savories.

Great menu i had the big breakfast and it was tasty and I was very satisfied after it. The coffee was delicious. Prices I thought were affordable. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend

One of the best and biggest cafes in Whangarei. They have a huge blackboard menu, and their sandwiches and savouries range is unbelievable. Their hot stuff is delicious too. Regardless of what I buy, I always buy one of their homemade mussell fritters. They are to die for!

Pilkington's is a large cafe with a great selection of food, and a good reputation for delicious food. However, most days it's full and the tables are so close to together that you can't manoeuvre through the place, so I normally take my food to go. Avoid the place on pension day!
Pricing is via a large menu-price list that is hung high above the food cabinets. To read it, you have to step back and look up. It is hard to read (and if you do stop to find out a price, you hold the queue up). It is pricey, but the food is better than most places around that area. A lot of it is homemade. I'd like to dine there, one day - seated, but I've yet to find a day where it's not crowded at eating times.
