Cooks Gardens Stadium & Velodrome

A spectacular sport stadium and velodrome, located in this beautiful city.

Was part of the relay for life at the weekend, and it was a great day/night. The venue itself was great, the grass was very neatly kept and the walking track comfortable to walk on.

An iconic venue!

I visited here after watching footage of Sir Peter Snell breaking the world record here many years ago.

The stadium is quite small and the grass areas are ideal for events and sports days. Free parking outside and nearby as well.

There is plenty of seating and on game or event days there are usually food stalls.

Definitely worth a visit even to revisit past New Zealand sporting glories or hopefully to see future ones made

The outdoor movies held there are wonderful, there was so many people and everyone had a ball. The food let it down a bit waited in line for 25 minutes before getting to order my coffee.

Been to a ton of events through the years of living in Whanganui. The facilities are always put to great use
