Angora Cafe Restaurant

Great parking at the door nice fresh scones and great caramel latte was served hot and had a really nice flavour the seating area was clean and tidy nice music playing giving it a relaxed atmosphere

Good cafe, but i wish the staff were a little more friendly. Sometimes they are really friendly and other days you feel like you are a burden when giving your order.

My partner and I were visiting Wanganui and wanted to go somewhere nice. Angora looked like a good restaurant but we were sorely disappointed.

The disappointment came from the terrible food that we were served. I had the Chicken Istanbul - which was meant to be a grilled chicken breast with tomato sauce, halloumi and a salad. The chicken breast was OK, but the sauce was acidic and the halloumi had not been fried or gilled (as what I would expect). The salad was served in a separate bowl which made it difficult to eat. This meal cost $26.50

My partner had the king prawns. They were tiny and had clearly been microwaved because the bowl was extremely hot and the sauce was burnt around the edges of the bowl. The presentation was shocking. The prawn dish costed $29. The prawns smelt and tasted like they were from a frozen packet. We were not expecting fresh king prawns, but definitely not ones that came out of a frozen pack given the price.

The table behind us complained to the waiter about their meals, and the table beside us could be heard complaining about their meal amongst themselves too. We were certainly not the only ones disappointed.

Definitely won't be going back there myself.

Good Turkish food, there are western options but they don't compare to the Baklava which is wonderful.

Nice cafe, the windows open so that you can open so you can look out onto the road which is nice - especially in summer as it can get quite hot.
