      Whakatane Hospital provides health services to the people of the Eastern Bay of Plenty. A secondary hospital, it provides level 4-5 services including: + Medical + Surgical + Paediatrics + Obstetrics + Gynaecology + Mental health. The hospital is also a base for a range of associated clinical support services and allied health, such as rehabilitation, speech therapy, physiotherapy, stroke and cardiac support, district nursing and drug and alcohol programmes. Visiting Hours: Between 2pm to 8pm daily. After hours visitors should report to reception where security staff will contact the relevant ward and clinical staff to make arrangements for your visit.

      I had called Whakatane Sleep Centre to get some filters and a water container for my CPAP machine on Monday, picked it up from outpatients on Tuesday thinking that I had the correct equipment, but only to find out when I got home, it was the wrong water container, rang them once again, and then today - Wednesday had to return back the wrong container & pick up the correct one only to find out that when I went to use it this afternoon for my nap - the seal wasn't included - after yet another call - I finally got the reply I needed and can pick up the seal tomorrow; so in total I have had 3 trips to Outpatients for my CPAP equipment - not good enough for me and maybe others who use this type of equipment.
