Absolutely amazing place, free entry, great for kids and families - me and the grandkids spent the whole day there a place Im so proud of!!

Attended the Chocolate festival here recently, it was great sitting in the auditorium watching a live cooking show!

Such a fun place to visit. So awesome I got a see a giant squid that I had seen on tv. Great family day out. So cool to see some very old cars and bikes kept in working order.

The museum itself is excellent but the "parent room" or "baby changing room" could use a face-lift.

The best museum in New Zealand. Gorgeous exhibits and lots of detailed information plaques. The Gallipoli exhibition is just incredible, the details on the soldiers is amazing. It's a sombre experience but well worth a visit. Make sure you read all the information throughout the exhibit as well - it really paints a picture of the awful but fascinating history of WWI.
