hen I walk past this place I don't think of it much, after all the decor and signage looks like 80s/90s Chinese restaurants. Finally had the chance to dine here and I think the food is quite decent. The kitchen puts out some quite authentic and decent sized servings of Shanghainese and wider Chinese cuisine, unlike the bastardised dishes of other Chinese establishments in Wellington that seem watered down in an attempt to please Kiwis. Worth a try if you are a Chinese food fiend.

From my favourite white poached chicken, to the signature orange beef (a play on a sort of sweet and sour beef), and back, the food here is excellent. Last time I went we also had delicious hot salty prawns in their shells, slow braised pork and taro, and the combination seafood in a deep fried potato basket.

Good value for money, you have free tea before lunch. Staff is very friendly. Nice place for a cheap lunch.
