      Midnight espresso, or 'Midnight' to the locals is a Wellington institution, and one of my favourite places to eat, or grab a coffee. Eclectic, quirky, retro, urban, unique are all words I use to describe the Midnight vibe.

      The cafe is alive with art and a colourful mural that stretches the length of the wall—their old-school pinball machine and Pac-man table take pride of place. I'm regularly delighted by their choice in music.

      They offer an array of delicious vegan food, and the staff make a mean coffee. I recommend the tofu burger. For you night owls the cafe is open really late, so you're well looked after for your 2am munchies.
