      We are proud to be the largest electricity generator in New Zealand and the most significant contributor to the Government's target of 90% renewable generation by 2025. We have developed ten wind farms in Australia and New Zealand, including the world's first wind farm at Ross Island Antarctica. We are also guardians of some of New Zealand's most iconic hydro assets, including Manapōuri which is located in a world heritage site. Meridian is listed on the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges and is approximately 51% owned by the New Zealand Government. As of 30 June 2014, Meridian was 85% owned by New Zealanders or New Zealand fund managers. The Meridian Group employs approximately 800 full-time-equivalent employees and has headquarters in New Zealand and offices in Australia.

      This is the energy company we use and we’re really impressed with the prices and service. Never had any problems with our power.

      The power prices are good and reasonable and there are sometimes good deals for their contracts. You need to wait for their call back to get a good deal. I had them for six months before I switched to one company that had a good contract. All said, their variable price for electricity is still the best around town. I lived in upper hutt city and used their electricity in 2018.
