We visited recently and were both pretty disappointed in our burgers -Mama Browns is at the same price point as places like Sweet Mothers and Rogue and Vagabond, but the quality was definitely inferior. I ordered the halloumi burger, my partner had the chicken burger. The buns were somehow both soggy and too dry, the salad left much to be desired, and there wasn't enough sauce. Overall they were just bland. Would return to try the spiked milkshakes because they sounded really good, but definitely wouldn't eat here again unless we saw a marked improvement in the quality.

If oyu like shakes, this is your best bet. They also do food very well. Overall pretty satisfying visit.

Absolutely love this place! Amazing food with brilliant service, the chicken and waffles are a must do to the point where a few friends and I fly down for lunch or dinner from Auckland because the food is that good.

When i arrived at Mama Brown the restaurant was packed, but the wait was worth it. They have the finest milkshakes and their food is amazing. The money you pay is definitely worth for the quantity and quality of food they provide. I had fish and chips and my husband had the BBQ Pork Ribs. All in all the experience was great and would recommend this place to my friends and family.

The decor is spunky and eclectic which is briefly amusing but then becomes a bit much quite quickly. But that aside, I was craving chicken and waffles. I made the mistake of assuming that an American style diner in Wellington would serve the chicken I was daydreaming of from Nashville, Tennessee. The chicken waffle sandwich really makes you understand the law of diminishing returns in that the first bite is fun but each bite thereafter goes downhill. Tastes okay-ish but didn’t make it possible for me to stuff my face as I’d wanted.
