The ambience and decor is only just the beginning to the dining experience. This is the perfect place to celebrate a special any special occasion. We have celebrated a hen's party and 60th here by having a high tea enjoying the delicate French delights. The private room is intimate and lovely for a small group. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. All correspondence leading up to our bookings have been efficient, informative and helpful. Bring on the next celebration!

Very pricey, but worth every penny. Exquisite high tea options, dinner menus and great kiwi big breakfast buffet style brunch.

Helped host an exquisite high tea party at Hippopotamus. Each tier of the high tea had really delicate and intricate food. Very pretty! Handy location in the Museum Hotel. Fine dining dinner was lovely too. Good service. Interesting decorations.

The service is amazing and everything we ate was astonishingly good. Matched with perfect wines, and the surroundings are lovely.
Seriously - treat yourself or someone else to a dinner here, it's absolutely worth it.

This place is spectacular, the art within this restaurant could simply make it an art gallery, highly recommended.
