      ***operating as a Tea Garden temporarily (hot and cold Drinks and G.F D.F Sweet treats) Hungry Elephant, Matakana's local Organic Store, Eco-gifts, Café & Organic/No added Sulphite/ Vegan/Natural Bar serves mostly Organic, tasty food prepared fresh at the in-house Deli. Our Kitchen is making food from the scratch! There is FOOD in our FOOD! Our produce is locally sourced/ from Organic and Whole-food suppliers. We serve local Organic wines, use local free-range eggs etc. we serve Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch. *our Bar might be closed for some quiet season **our Cafe is open on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. All the sweet range and some cabinet options are still available on Wednesday and Thursdays. Some of our specialties: . Organic super store; Skin-care and Beauty ranges, Supplements, Whole-food, Protein powders, Cleaning & house-hold products, Clothing and fashion accessories, Shakti mats etc. . Ample parking areas make Hungry Elephant the perfect setting for groups, families and kids. We have one parking space designed for Caravans, Motorhomes or large vehicles. We welcome walk-ins.       Flavour is not sacrificed in the name of being organic! Lovely food, and a fantastic shop for many unique, hard to get items.

      Tasty food and interesting, characterful shop. Out the back we were pleasantly surprised to discover a quaint courtyard with seating looking out over a stream and waterfall. Very peaceful.

      Places like this need to promoted and supported more. It is a great experience coming here. Not just for coffee and stunning Eco friendly food. It is also a brilliant spot for gifts. Food is brilliant and encourages you towards eating something that is healthy and delicious. Well worth a visit.

      First time here and wouldn't be the last. Tried their coffee. It's worth the money. Would keep me up for a long time. The cookbooks on sale looks interesting would be back for dinner one day
