      My husband and I went away one weekend to Matakana, and pulled over to try the food at Ascension. We were not disappointed, their platter had a bit of everything and was absolutely divine. We nearly had the whole courtyard to ourselves on a lovely sunny afternoon. I'm looking forward to going back again.

      This restaurant is stunning! Very beautiful, and stunning restaurant. Inside and outside. It has a nice beautiful Mediterranean feel and the decor is just absolutely stunning. We ordered pizza and hot chips and it was delicious. The staff were very lovely and friendly. The outside was just absolutely breath taking and the atmosphere of the place was just very calm.

      This beautiful vineyard / restaurant is located just before you hit Matakana town and it's worth stopping for. The place itself is gorgeous and the food and wine matches are divine.
