Awesome pit stop for the kids , great to see a little bit of our History ! Friendly approachable staff!! Cafe a little on the expensive side!

Pretty much the only 'human' place to stop on a long drive in Waiouru (Waiouru is one NZ's few Army base's, and the NZ Army recruit training base - so understandable). Highly recommend to stop here for meal, snack, drink, tea/coffee, and rest before the desert road stretch or drive back to Wellington. Really interesting and a very important museum for and about the NZ Army - really cool, and a lot of work has been done to make it so informative, educational and provide pivotal research and history.

Fantastic place to stop and let the kids learn a bit of history. Reasonable price with activity sheets for the children to do to keep them engaged. Loved the children's HQ where the children can dress up in army gear. Only downside was having to walk in the rain from the place to purchase tickets, to the actual museum. Will be great once the renovations are sorted.

A fantastic resource, everyone should visit here at least once. Awesome displays, and a great educational resource. Cafe is pretty pricey though.
