Wonderful food and service. Early kitchen close caught us out a wee bit but staff were more than happy to accommodate and feed us. Heaters and blankets available for those less than balmy evenings outside.

Great atmosphere here especially in the outdoor area in summer. Good range of drinks too and the chips are the best. Debatably the best place in the North Island for Sunday afternoon beersies.

Go most sundays and always have a great time. Love love love the hot chips.

I've got to agree with the review above/below by Shawn. This could be the pub with the best view in New Zealand. The beach is literally just across the road and, thanks to slightly elevated seating on Charlie Farley's deck, you get a brilliant view of people swimming, surfing and boating. The food here is good, but nothing to rave about. The service is a little bit slow and unfriendly, but that can be forgiven considering how busy it gets on a sunny day.

Beautiful setting! Beautiful views! Great food! And a delightful range of beverages - can't turn down a good vino! Kids love the hot chips here too!
