      Nice atmosphere, homemade chunky chips are delicious.
      Deconstructed lemon meringue is beautiful and great value for the price.

      The atmosphere in this pub is fabulous. The decor is pure colonial vintage, which adds to the ambience. The food is glorious pub grub. Good comfort food. The Sausage and Mash is delicious! And on top of that, they sell the best ale in the world. Highly recommended.

      Great spot if your stopping in timaru. There isn't a lot of great places in this town but the ale house seems to fit in really well.

      Found the service last time we went here was pretty poor and rude. the dessert tasted like it was brought in and heated up not made on site
