Explore the Chathams Islands with Air Chathams! Air Chathams are based on the Chatham Islands and have scheduled return flights to Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Napier each week utilising either twin engine Convair 580s or a Metroliner. We schedule 6 flights a week in the Summer, and 4 flights a week in the Winter. We also offer charter flights to Pitt Island. Check In is at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Napier Domestic Terminals with baggage Allowance is 20kg per passenger including infants, hand baggage must not exceed 5kg. In addition to being a passenger airline, we also offer a freight service between the New Zealand hubs and the Chatham Islands. We operate the trusty Convair CIB on the Chathams, with the CIE supporting Chathams and doing charters in NZ, the CIF in Tonga, the CID freighter is in storage at the moment, the Metro is still operating with Origin Pacific and the Cessna 206 provides the service to Pitt. I flew from Auckland to Whanganui with them today, top marks for providing a direct flight and the attendant was great, I watched her helping a passenger who was in a wheelchair and she had such a lovely manner with him.

Great small airline, they are always on time and the seats are cheap to fly. They come through with a choccy bikkie which is nice touch on the flight.

Air chathams has excellent flight crew. We were welcomed onboard and meal was very delicious. We get to choose from chicken or fish.

These guys are a lot more expensive than driving 50 mins to Palmerston north - its just not competitive enough My nephew took a flight a fortnight ago from wanganui to Auckland, the small plane got caught in the wake of a big plane - its put me off completely
