Public libraries are no longer just about books on shelves, and the Ruapehu District Libraries are no exception, with so much more to offer ¿ membership is essential for many of the services, but casual visitors are also welcome and will find much to keep them occupied and informed. Ruapehu District Council operates libraries in Taumarunui, Ohakune and Raetihi, located in the same council offices in those centres, and operating at the same hours as those offices. Taumarunui and Ohakune : Monday to Friday - 8.00am to 5.00pm Raetihi : Mon, Wed, Fri - 8.30am to 4.00pm and Tue, Thu - 8.30am to 3.00pm Closed public holidays

We love this library and are in here often. Signing up was a breeze, staff are always friendly and efficient. Many will start a chat about books - they are obviously all readers and very knowledgeable. Great selection. Email book renewal is so helpful. Thanks for this great community resource.

Lots of books to choose from. Staff are friendly and helpful. Computer access as well which is handy. Well set out.

Nice big well stocked spacious welcoming library also its conveniently connected to the council should you need to use their services :D
