Speights Ale House

Speights ale house is popular with locals and tourists alike. We popped in for some drinks and a quick bite to eat. Cider was nice, food was ok- just your average pub fare. There’s lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. If it’s warm you can enjoy the atmosphere of the beer garden. A nice spot for a quick drink.

Stopped in for a hot meal and a beer. The food was great. I have lamb shanks and the meat just fell off the bone. My partner ordered a steak and it was cooked just to his liking. The staff popped over to ensure we were haply with out meal which was nice

We ended up dining here 2 nights, as the food was very good & tasty Staff were very friendly & service was great Busy both nights we were their We had Cod & lamb shanks on our last night , fantastic

Always enjoy visiting the ale house, the waiters and waitresses are lovely and check on you regularly. My particular favourite is the blue cod, but all the meals I have tried have been delicious and very decent portions too.

Have been here on a couple of occasions. Once for drinks and again for a meal. Service is excellent and food is hearty and tasty. Lots of seating options - nice courtyard for summer and warm fireside tables for winter.
