COMPOST - AVAILABLE MONDAY TO FRIDAY Parkvale Mushrooms Ltd is a family business owned and run by Clive Thompson. Clive has been growing mushrooms at Parkvale since 1966, and started growing the "Gourmet Brown" Mushroom in 1990. This "brown" mushroom has proven to have superior flavour and texture and grown at Parkvale is unsurpassed in the market. Whilst most vegetables and fruit; including normal mushrooms deteriorate more quickly once they reach full maturity, the Parkvale strain of "brown" mushroom can be grown to full maturity, the renowned Parkvale "FLAT" and still keeps as well or better than other mushrooms.Although Parkvale mushrooms are generally eaten for their flavour, it is good to know that they are rich in vitamins, protein and fibre and low in calories. They¿re healthy! Mushrooms are available to buy at the Mushroom Farm at Parkvale about 4km east of Carterton, also available, bulk Mushroom compost. $40 per cubic metre. For sure the best Mushrooms in Nz, I always make a trip whenever I'm in town to get them fresh from Parkvale. They're also sold in a lot of supermarkets across the lower north from my experience if you aren't in the area. such good flavour and so fresh!

This place is worth the drive! you get to explore many different mushrooms and get your hands on really fresh ingredients.

Really yummy mushroom, the freshest. Parkvale Mushrooms, has better deals than the supermarket.
